Classroom Rules

 

1.      Students will be on time. Being on time means in the classroom when the bell rings.

 

2.      Students may eat or drink during class but, must clean up after oneself. Students may not throw out food in the classroom trashcan. Students must throw out trash in the hallway trashcan.

 

3.       Students will follow directions the first time they are given. If a student does not understand the directions, he/she should ask the teacher for further instruction or help.

 

4.        Students will be respectful of the teacher, their classmates, and themselves. Students will demonstrate respect by not taking things without permission, speaking in a class appropriate voice, and avoiding bad or inappropriate language.

 

 

 

Discipline Policy:

 

 

Step 1.   Positive prompt/reminder to follow the rules.

 

Step 2.  Correction to change behavior (as privately as possible.)

Step 3.  Conference with the teacher documented – signed copy by parent.

 

Step 4.  Email or phone call with the parent and student documentation kept by the teacher.

 

Step 5.  Conference with student, Assistant Principal, and the teacher.

 

Step 6.  All class privileges will be withheld from the student until behavior has diminished.
