WELCOME TO AV PRODUCTION (SHS Productions)
Welcome! I’m Kyle Dietz, and I lead the Audio-Visual Production program (SHS Productions) at Smyrna High School, where students learn to create compelling content for film, television, news, podcasting, and sports media. With over 25 years of experience in both the classroom and the industry, I’ve built this program to give students real-world, hands-on opportunities that prepare them for college, careers, and creative leadership.
Our student productions have received recognition at the county, state and national level, including "Best Documentary", "Best Music Video", "Best Commercial" "Best News Program" at the RCS Student Media Awards. Most recently, our second student-produced feature film REAL was released theatrically and on Amazon Prime Video, a monumental achievement for a high school program. (News 2 Feature)
My teaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that students rise to the level of meaningful challenge. I aim to foster a professional environment that values creative risk-taking, teamwork, and accountability. Whether students dream of working in Hollywood or launching a YouTube channel, this program gives them the tools and confidence to tell stories that matter.

Office Hours will be on Tuesdays & Fridays from 12:30 - 2:00, students/parents will need to make an appointment in advance to schedule a Zoom meeting or call.
Welcome! Check your grades regularly through Skyward using your assigned username and password. If you need assistance with your login information, contact the counseling office (extension 23717).
Use Clever to access assignments in TEAMS. If this is your first time accessing Clever from home, you will need to put your entire email address in [email protected] and your password that you always use to log into a computer at school.
Class copies of textbooks will be provided as well as links to the digital version. You can access your Office 365 account by clicking here; the username and password are the same as your computer login at school.
