Math Lab Syllabus Summary

MATH LAB Course Description:

The special education course allows a student to focus on the key concepts and applications addressed in Integrated Math classes. Through Math Lab, the student improves basic math skills needed for high school math. The math lab is open to students that are on a special education pathway or general education pathway. 

 
 

MATH LAB Course Syllabus

 

Course Objectives:
•    Students will learn how to use algebraic and geometry techniques.
•    Students will learn how to apply mathematics to real world applications.
•    Students will gain a greater understanding of math concepts needed for future
      mathematics work.
 

Classroom Rules

  • Classroom rules are the same as defined in the student handbook. Students are expected to show respect to themselves, others and property.

 

Assessment

  • Unit tests
  • Daily class work including Imagine Math lessons
  •  Monthly progress monitoring per skill measured by a nationally normed curriculum
    based measure. 

Instructional Strategies:

  • Direct instruction, guided practice, individual practice, modeling, and grouping students, computer assisted instruction

     The presentation of material is modified based on student needs.
