The Bible

Purpose:

• This course has been designed to provide students with an understanding of the Bible and its influence on history, literature, law, and culture. 

What this class is all about…

• We are going to study the Bible ACADEMICALLY, NOT DEVOTIONALLY. In other words, we will be learning about the Bible and its role in history, language, and culture.
• We will study about religion as presented in the Bible, but we will not be engaged in the practice of religion.
• During this course, we will encounter differing religious views, but the views will neither be encouraged nor discouraged.
