BYOD and Me!  Motivate Students with Activities and Materials

 

Session Descriptor:

The mobile device explosion has great opportunity to impact learning in our classrooms! Don't be afraid - harness the power! Engage your students safely using management strategies and device neutral apps.

Task 1: Discuss what BYOD is and the benefits in the classroom using the following BYOD

Answer Garden

  • Type one word that describes BYOD to you. Also, discuss how you could use Answer Garden in the BYOD classroom.
  • Discuss the benefits to the BYOD classroom mentioned in the Nearpod.

 

 

Task 2: Discuss BYOD guidelines and procedures/management.

  • Printable poster – BYOD stoplight with levels
  • Golden Rules of BYOD
  • Padlet (BYOD resource)
  • What are some ways you can manage BYPD in your classroom?
  • How can the Padlet resource could be used in the classroom?
  • Share Classroom Procedures/Guidelines (Spot check, set clear expectations, post signs, BYOD parking lot, etc.)

 

 

Task 3: Interact with BYOD resources.

Task 4: Evaluate the BYOD tools that are most beneficial to your classroom.
