Jazz Band

Smyrna High Jazz Ensemble is open to students 9th through the 12th grade interested in learning and excelling in Jazz, America's musical art form. Instrumentation is set at: 2 Alto Saxes, 2 Tenor Saxes, 1 Bari Sax, 4-5 Trumpets, 4-5 Trombones, Piano, Bass, Guitar, and Drum Set. All students interested in participation must have intermediate to advanced level skills on their instrument. It is a performance oriented class that meets the 4th block during the school day.

Typically some members will audition for Mid state and All State Jazz Band. Concert performances will include a Christmas Concert, a Spring Concert, and an appearance on stage with other jazz bands in the area supporting the Murfreesboro Jazz Festival in May.
