Nurse Picture

Nurse Sissom has been in practice since 1994. She was born and raised in West Tennessee in the historic river town of Savannah. She attended Hardin County High School and graduated with Honors. She and her son now live in Murfreesboro. 


Nurse Sissom graduated from Middle Tennessee State University in 1994 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Professional practice areas include hospital-based Critical and Special Care Units, Cardiac Care, Post Anesthesia Care, and as a Public School Nurse since 2005. She joined Rutherford County Schools in 2011 at Smyrna High School. She has served as the RCS High School Nurse Team Leader since 2018. 

 

Nurse Sissom is Team Leader for the Smyrna High School First Responders Team and the Smyrna High School Crisis Response Medical Team. In addition, Nurse Sissom is certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), trained in STOP THE BLEED, and serves as an American Heart Association CPR, AED and First Aid Instructor.  Nurse Sissom is proud to announce Smyrna High School has been a Project Adam Heart Safe School since 2018 by establishing an emergency response plan that includes CPR, AED, EMS activation for sudden cardiac arrest. 


Nurse Sissom is a proud mom. Austin is attending MTSU working a degree in Media Arts Video/Film Production and Media Management while working for a radio station in Nashville.  She enjoys attending the Experience Community Murfreesboro, spending time with family and friends, going to concerts, taking road-trips, pool/lake days, shopping, seeing movies, and enjoying time in Savannah or home relaxing in Murfreesboro.
